| Valentino Rossi products 9 times World Champion, Valentino Rossi is widely regarded as the greatest motorcycle racer of all time. Valentino’s first world title came in 1997 on a 125cc Aprillia. He moved up to the 250cc class the following season and duly won the world title a year later in 1999. This promoted Valentino to the premier class with Honda and the start of his amazing partnership with Jeremy Burgess. Vale won the 500cc world title, again in his 2nd year of this class in 2001. This was also the final year of 500cc MotoGP racing with the new 990 era starting in 2002. Valentino won 11 races in the 2002 season to claim his 4th World title (his 2nd in the premier class) and continued this winning streak by claiming the world title for the following 3 years (2003, 2004 & 2005). His 2 titles in 2004 & 2005 were on a Yamaha, after switching from Honda and Valentino narrowly missed out on the 2006 title to Nicky Hayden after a thrilling final race in Valencia. Valentino duly came back stronger and won further world titles on his Yamaha in 2008 & 2009, bringing his total to 9, 7 in the premier class.
